The Zentsu-ji temple is number 75 in the Pilgrim journey in Shikoku. Kobo Daishi built Zentsu-ji in 806 in order to pray for the repose of his ancestors. The temple was named after his father, Zentsu. It is said that a person who has committed a crime cannot emerge from the darkness of the passage that runs under the temple building.
